Tottenham Hotspur fans absolutely love claims that Antonio Conte has demanded that Harry Kane stays at the club.
Sky Italia originally suggested that Conte had told Daniel Levy that he wants to keep Kane live on air, after Tottenham’s talks with the former Inter Milan boss.
Those claims were then backed up by The Times today, who say that Conte will only take the job if he is promised that he will get to manage Kane.
And Tottenham fans are rejoicing over the news that Conte is so determined to keep their star man.
The battle to keep Kane
If Tottenham can keep hold of Kane then their chances of success will obviously ben greatly increased.
Kane is the star turn in Spurs team, and if he was sold it is difficult to see how they could replace him without going backwards – regardless of how much they raise for the striker.
The news may be troubling for Kane, who is currently on England duty, as he does seem determined to leave, given his public interviews of late.
Tottenham hold all the cards though, as he is on such a long-contract, and if Conte is so insistent on the England captain staying then it is difficult to see how he gets a move if the Italian arrives.
