Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reacted to the ‘massive chance’ that Diogo Jota had in this afternoon’s victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Divock Origi came off the bench to score a last-minute winner for Liverpool on what was a very difficult visit to Molineux, everybody would agree.
But Klopp’s outfit could and absolutely should have opened the scoring earlier in the contest when the Portuguese attacker fluffed an open goal.
Jota had the entire goal at his mercy but Conor Coady contrived to produce a stunning block to prevent the visitors from moving ahead.
Despite Origi’s dramatic strike, the afternoon could perhaps be remembered for the 25-year-old’s miss above all else.
Here’s how the Liverpool manager himself reacted to the incident.
He said: “It was a massive challenge for our concentration as we missed massive chances with Diogo.”
Warning
Somewhat incredibly, Liverpool still managed to pull off a victory but this was a warning for the Anfield giants all the same.
Liverpool are top of the Premier League table – well, unless Manchester City win this evening anyway – but improvement is still of paramount importance because on another occasion, Klopp’s outfit fail to be victorious.
