Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes has suggested that a summer move to Rangers could be on the cards, telling PLZ Soccer that he is confident of making the step up to a club of the Glasgow giants’ status.
The Aussie battering ram might not be the most prolific centre-forward north of the border but, if you play to his strengths, he is one of the most effective.
An old-school number nine who caught Steven Gerrard’s eye during a game in which he made £4 million defender Filip Helander look a £40,000 defender, Dykes has forced his way onto Rangers’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Mail claims that the £2 million frontman is a target for the Gers, as well as their Old Firm rivals Celtic.
And, perhaps unsurprisingly given his honest and forthright approach to the beautiful game, Dykes did not mince his words when asked about a potential move to Ibrox.

“I don’t see why I couldn’t step into a club like Rangers, obviously they are a massive club in Scotland,” the 24-year-old says.
“I back myself 100 per cent and if I did happen to go anywhere I would do the best I can, learn off the players they have, the manager and once I got in that environment I’d put my head down, work hard and be the striker the club needs or the position the manager needs.”
Standing at 6ft 2ins and with the leap of a turbo-powered salmon, Dykes would certainly give a Rangers side that have often looked one-dimensional since the turn of the year a viable Plan B.
After all, neither Alfredo Morelos nor the diminutive Jermain Defoe are exactly famed for their aerial prowess.
