Chris Sutton has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:55pm, March 6, 2023) that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal having Gabriel Jesus back in action will be “massive” for the Gunners in their quest to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the Premier League title this season.
The former Chelsea striker has said that Jesus has been a big loss for Arsenal, but the BBC Sport pundit believes that the £45 million (Sky Sports) Brazil international striker will be “absolutely enormous” for Mikel’s Arteta’s side in the final weeks of the campaign.
Jesus has been on the sidelines since the 2022 Qatar World Cup when he suffered an injury while playing for Brazil.
The striker, who joined Arsenal from defending Premier League champions Manchester City in the summer of 2022, is reportedly training on grass now.
Arteta has said that although it is not clear exactly when Jesus will be available, he is confident that it will not be too long.
Chris Sutton on Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus
Sutton said: “They have got Gabriel Jesus in training. He is going to be massive for them.”
The BBC Sport pundit added: “Jesus has been a massive loss for them.
“Getting him back would be absolutely enormous. It would give the team a real boost and a real lift like a new signing coming in.”

Encouraging
In our view, the return of Gabriel Jesus will be really big for Arsenal.
The Gunners are leading Manchester City in the Premier League title race at the moment.
Jesus has been out for several weeks now.
The Gunners have still maintained their momentum.
Just imagine how much better and more potent Arsenal will be when Jesus is available for manager Arteta.
It would be frightening.
