Massimo Luongo is one of the best midfielders in the Championship, and it does not come as a surprise that Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have been linked with the Queens Park Rangers star.

According to The World Game SBS, Championship club Palace and Premier League side Villa are interested in securing the services of the former Tottenham Hotspur man in the summer transfer window.

If Villa and Palace both make offers for the Australia international this summer, then he should choose the Villans over the Eagles, but only if Steve Bruce’s side are in the Premier League.

Luongo, who cost QPR £3.5 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Swindon Town in the summer of 2015 according to The Birmingham Mail, is ready to make the step-up to the Premier League.

Palace look set to remain in the top flight of English football for the 2018-19 campaign, while Villa are likely to be fighting for promotion via the Championship playoffs.

The Australian is good enough to play in the Premier League, and although joining Villa and working with Bruce in the Championship could be tempting, the 25-year-old midfielder needs to test himself at the highest level.

What if both Villa and Palace are in the Premier League next season? Then Luongo should make decision based on which side are more likely to remain in the English top flight for the 2019-20 campaign.
