Massimo Luongo could be about to take Mile Jedinak’s place in Aston Villa’s and Australia’s teams.

Jedinak has been a permanent fixture for both club and country, but he is now fighting to keep his place in both teams.

Jedinak’s recent performances Australia’s friendlies have been overshadowed by Luongo’s.

And there are now suggestions that the Socceroos could line up with Aaron Mooy and Luongo alongside each other at the World Cup.

Steve Bruce is also said to be considering signing Luongo from Queens Park Rangers by the World Game.

If Luongo does arrive at Villa, he will go straight into competition with Jedinak for a place in Bruce’s side’s midfield.

Jedinak has already lost his place in Villa’s midfield recently, with the veteran having to play at centre-back.

And if Luongo arrives his task of forcing his way back into Bruce’s starting line-up could become even harder.
