Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid have now officially missed out on Massimiliano Allegri.
Recent reports in the media had claimed that both Tottenham and Madrid wanted to appoint Allegri, but the Italian manager has now taken charge of his former club Juventus.
AS report earlier this month that Tottenham have made an approach for Allegri.
The report claimed that the 53-year-old wanted to wait and see what happens at Madrid.
Then Calciomercato reported that Allegri’s agent was going to hold talks with Madrid in the Spanish capital.
However, it seems that both Tottenham and Madrid have been snubbed by Allegri.
The 53-year-old was in charge of Juventus from the summer of 2014 until the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
During that period, the Italian tactician won the Serie A title five times and also led the Bianconeri to the final of Champions League twice.
Juventus could not win the league title under Andrea Pirlo this season and could have also missed out on the Champions League places.
Allegri knows Juventus inside out and was a huge success in his first spell.
True, Tottenham and Madrid are massive clubs, but the Italian tactician probably felt better going back to the club he knows so well.
Spurs are looking for a permanent successor to Jose Mourinho, while Madrid need to find a manager to replace Zinedine Zidane.
