Ryan Mason has said on Twitter that Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino should have been booked for diving against Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The former Tottenham midfielder, who now works as a youth coach at Spurs, believes that Firmino went down on more than one occasion in the opening minutes of the Premier League game on Thursday evening.

Mason believes that the referee should have booked the 29-year-old Brazil international for diving.

Liverpool march to win

It was a very entertaining game, especially the first half, and, as usual these days, there were VAR issues as well.

While Spurs played well, the North London club made bad mistakes defensively, and Liverpool will feel that they deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.

The win shows that Liverpool are far from finished in terms of winning the Premier League title for the second season in a row.

As for Spurs, while it will be a disappointment for the North London club to lose 3-1 at home, they will feel encouraged by their performance in the first half, bar the goal.
