Frank Lampard’s Derby County have already benefitted from bringing in Mason Mount this summer.

Derby impressively landed Mount on loan from Chelsea for the season, and that owed largely down to Frank Lampard.
Lampard had been in contact with Mount prior to his move to Pride Park, and obviously had good contacts at Chelsea.
And Mount said that as soon as he knew Derby were interested in taking him, he was keen to move to the Championship side.
“I think it was a no-brainer for me to go there and play,” the youngster said. “I didn’t want to spend another year playing at U-23 level when I had the chance to get out and play professionally in a top league and get as many minutes as I can.
“Frank has been brilliant. He has spoken to me a lot one-to-one before and after I signed. I’m always speaking to him and for me, being an attacking midfielder, I couldn’t learn off anyone bigger or better than that. I always go into a game trying to get an assist and trying to get a goal, I want to influence games.”
Mount has made a brilliant start to life at Derby, with the England youth international already living up to the high expectations that were put on him.

Mount arrived at Derby and he was expected to be a star in the Championship this term, and he hasn’t disappointed so far.
The 19-year-old has hit four goals in eight appearances in Derby’s midfield, and looks to be going from strength to strength.
Mount is already playing a key role for the Rams, and will surely start in Lampard’s side’s next match, which comes against Rotherham United in two weekends’ time.
