Leeds United are said to be keen on snapping up Mason Holgate from Everton.

Mason Holgate could be the final piece of the Leeds United jigsaw, if he does sign in January.

According to the Sun on Sunday (23/12/2018, page 61), Leeds are lining up a loan bid for the Everton defender.

And if Holgate does arrive at Goodison Park then it could be the perfect addition.

Leeds have proven over the first half of the campaign that there are very few flaws in their squad.

However, Marcelo Bielsa must be concerned about his options at centre-back, if injury strikes again.

While Pontus Jansson, Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper have all been excellent at the back this season, Leeds have been exposed in defence due to injury before.

And the arrival of Holgate would ensure that they no longer look short of numbers at the back.

Holgate can fill in at centre-back or even full-back, and he would bring a lot of quality to Elland Road.

The Everton youngster is comfortable in possession, but he also possess great pace and he could fit in well with Bielsa’s pressing game.

And if the opportunity to sign Holgate arises then Leeds should take it, as his arrival would only take them closer to promotion.
