Celtic signed defender Marvin Compper from Red Bull Leipzig and made him their first January addition.

Compper was Celtic’s first signing of the January transfer window, with the central-defender coming in from Red Bull Leipzig.
Compper is yet to make his competitive debut for the Bhoys, but he is already enthused to play for the Glasgow side.

And he said: “The welcome of the gaffer and the stadium impressed me when I first got to Glasgow. It’s really nice and it shows just the size of Celtic.”
Compper is expected to go straight into Rodgers’ first-team at Celtic, as he brings with him a wealth of experience.
The 32-year-old has been brought to Celtic to help tighten up Rodgers’ side’s backline.

Rodgers has bemoaned his lack of options at centre back this season, and Compper’s arrival should help strengthen his side for the second half of the campaign.
Celtic return to competitive action at the weekend, with a Scottish Cup match against Brechin.
The Bhoys then take on Partick Thistle in midweek, and Compper will be expected to make his debut in one of those two matches.
