Marvin Compper joined Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that Compper will feature for Celtic in their pre-season friendly match against SK Vorwarts Steyr in Austria on Wednesday.

The Hoops will then take on Bohemians Prague, Sparta Prague and Shamrock Rovers in friendly games ahead of their Champions League qualifier first round qualifying tie against Alashkert on July 10.

Boost for Celtic?
Compper has had injury and fitness issues at Celtic since his move from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window for a transfer fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £1 million.
The 33-year-old central defender seems to be fully fit now, and him getting some valuable minutes in pre-season is going to be beneficial for the Glasgow giants, especially as he has not played a competitive football match since March.

With Dedryck Boyata, Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa all at the World Cup, Celtic will need cover at the back for their Champions League qualifiers.
Compper is a good defender, and the German centre-back could prove to be a valuable player for the Hoops next season.
