Glasgow Rangers have had a mixed first year back in the Scottish Premiership, and Andrews has suggested that some are lucky to be at Ibrox.

Marvin Andrews has suggested that some Rangers players will know that they would not be at Ibrox if the Gers had the kind of money they used to have, the Evening Times reports.
The Light Blues have endured a fairly turbulent season back in the Scottish Premiership, with the title completely out of reach already and with the race for second beginning to look like an uphill battle for Pedro Caixinha’s men.
Many of the players have come in for criticism at various stages, and Andrews – who was part of the Gers side that won the title in 2005 – has suggested that some of the squad know they are probably lucky to be at the club.
“Rangers have been a through a lot as a club and a lot of players might say to themselves they are at Ibrox because of the situation,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.

“If Rangers had the money they once had then some players wouldn’t have that opportunity but hopefully things can change and the new manager gets some backing.”
Though many Rangers fans will probably agree with Andrews’ statement, there is unfortunately little that can be done without significant investment to change the squad.
However, it would perhaps be unfair to suggest that Caixinha cannot get the best out of some of the previously-floundering members of the squad.

If Celtic fans heard a player make such comments last summer, their minds may well have focused on the likes of Stuart Armstrong and James Forrest, who looked almost out of their depth during Ronny Deila’s tenure.
However, they have been two of the better performers this season, so it is certainly too soon to write any Gers players off while Caixinha is still learning about the squad.
