Derby County forward Martyn Waghorn has been recognised for his exploits in the Rams’ last Championship game, the 6-1 hammering of Rotherham United on Saturday, by being named in the EFL Team of the Week.

Mount and Duane Holmes also scored for Derby, either side of Richard Wood’s header, before Waghorn was given the chance to complete his hat-trick from the spot once again, and he duly obliged from 12 yards.

Prior to Saturday’s fixture, Waghorn – who joined from Ipswich Town last summer – had four goals in 27 Championship games, plus two each in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, according to Transfermarkt.
