Former Rangers ace wishes Jordan Thompson well as he confirms he is leaving Ibrox.
Former Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn has expressed his good wishes towards ex-teammate Jordan Thompson.
Thompson confirmed on Twitter he is set to leave Rangers this summer when his contract expires.
Like Waghorn, Thompson was brought to Rangers by former boss Mark Warburton.
He has since moved on to Ipswich Town, sold last summer by Pedro Caixinha.
Thompson was signed after a spell in Manchester United’s academy side but he did not manage to establish himself in the first team at Rangers either.
Thompson, 21, was on loan at Livingston in the second half of the season, where he made 15 appearances.
Moving on from Rangers is the right move for the Northern Irishman at this point of his career, with the path blocked for first team action in Steven Gerrard’s side.
He must now decide whether he sees his future down south in England or whether he wants to continue in Scotland, and try to find a club which offers him stability and the chance to bed down as a regular.
