Glasgow Rangers’ Under-20 side won against their Bayern Munich counterparts, and former Ibrox forward Martyn Waghorn has replied to Gers coach Peter Lovenkrands on Twitter.

Martyn Waghorn of Ipswich Town takes a free kick during the Sky Bet Championship match between Ipswich Town and Leeds United at Portman Road on January 13, 2018 in Ipswich, England.

There is a buzz around Ibrox at the moment, as Rangers continue to make some brilliant signings in the January transfer window in an effort to close the gap between themselves and Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Graeme Murty’s side have recruited Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy, Jason Cummings and Russell Martin on loan from Queens Park Rangers, Brighton and Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest and Norwich City respectively.

Rangers are unlikely to win the Scottish Premiership this season, but the Gers can certainly finish second and launch a challenge for the title during the 2018-19 campaign.

Just like the Rangers senior team, the Development Squad is doing well at the moment. On Saturday afternoon, they defeated Bayern Munich at the FC Bayern Campus 2-1.

Peter Lovenkrands is working as an academy coach at Rangers at the moment, and the former Ibrox attacker has taken to social networking site Twitter to revel in the win for the Development Squad, with Ipswich Town forward Martyn Waghorn – who was on the books of the Gers from 2015 until 2017 – responding to his message.
