Glasgow Rangers’ Josh Windass scored a treble on Wednesday to enhance his burgeoning reputation with the Ibrox outfit.

Josh Windass scored a hat-trick as Rangers won 3-0 away to Fraserburgh on Wednesday night in their rearranged Scottish Cup tie.
The English midfielder opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 15 minutes to give Rangers a narrow half-time lead.
And the former Accrington Stanley star then scored two more to effectively seal the Gers’ passage to the next round with over 20 minutes left.

It was the latest bit of evidence that Windass is developing into a serious player under Graeme Murty, who replaced Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox.
And one of the 24-year-old’s former team-mates at Rangers, Martyn Waghorn, sent his congratulations on Twitter.

Windass hasn’t always had an easy time of it in Glasgow, especially under Caixinha who would occasionally criticise him publicly in interviews.
Between that and playing him on the left-hand side of midfield, the playmaker was struggling at Ibrox, but he seems to have found his feet again under Murty.
