Rangers’ Martyn Waghorn celebrates scoring their fourth goal
Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn has admitted to the Daily Mail that he has been off the pace in the last few weeks.
The striker was in sensational form for the Gers last season, scoring 28 goals in all competitions.
This season he has eight goals in seven appearances to his name, but just one of those has come in the Scottish Premiership.
He has struggled to find his best form since missing the first four weeks of the season after pulling his hamstring on the opening day of the campaign.

And Waghorn admits himself that he has not been up to the standard that he has set previously.
“These past few weeks I still think I’ve been off the pace a little bit. I’ve not been my usual self in terms of being a threat up front,” he told the Daily Mail.
“The longer the run goes without scoring the more you end up snatching at things. You don’t mean to do it purposely but I put a lot of pressure on myself to perform. I want to score goals and play well.”

Rangers will be hoping that Waghorn can rediscover his goalscoring form when they take on rivals Celtic this afternoon.
The two sides meet at Hampden Park in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup, with the Gers keen to avenge the 5-1 loss to Brendan Rodgers side in the league earlier this year.
They will need their strikers in top form if that is to happen and it represents the perfect chance for Waghorn to find his feet again.
