Martyn Waghorn and Glenn Middleton have sent their good luck messages to Daniel Candeias on Instagram after he left Rangers for Turkey.

The 31-year-old winger has penned a two-year contract with Turkish side Genclerbirligi after spending two seasons at Ibrox, as reported by BBC Sport.

Candeias was a regular under Steve Gerrard last season, but the clubs failure to secure a trophy last season has seen a number of changes in the transfer market this summer.

A flurry of players have joined the club as Gerrard now begins to get more comfortable with his squad, as striker Waghorn, who was sold by the club in 2017, sent this message to Candeias on Instagram, along with a host of other players.

As mentioned, Gerrard is now slowly building his own squad at Ibrox, and added with the improvements he brought to the club with his style of play last season, there will only be one thing on his mind ahead of the new campaign.

The Scottish Premiership will no doubt be top of Rangers’ agenda, as they will be looking to stop their Old Firm rivals from winning nine-in-a-row.

But with the transfer window still open, the Gers can still do some more business if they wish. One thing that Gerrard will also be hoping for is that some of his key players remain at the club.

Alfredo Morelos’ future is always up in the air, and if Gerrard can keep him in Glasgow then it’ll increase their chances of lifting some silverware next term.
