Martin Tyler has told Sky Sports that he has been assured by Liverpool staff that Andy Robertson will be fit for their midweek clash against Crystal Palace.

Robertson missed out on playing for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby last night, with James Milner filling in at left-back.

Milner did a solid job, but Liverpool lacked their usual attacking threat down the left, which Robertson provides.

Liverpool could only manage to pick up a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park.

But Tyler says that Liverpool staff are confident that Robertson won’t be out for long.

“I’m assured Andy Robertson will be fit for the Crystal Palace game on Wednesday,” Tyler said.

Robertson’s return should be good news for Liverpool, as they look to get their first win since the restart under their belts.

Palace will not be easy opponents, as they impressed in their first game back – winning 2-0 against Bournemouth.

Liverpool’s draw with Everton has moved them 26 points clear at the top of the Premier League, although Manchester City play later this evening.
