Rangers seemingly won’t be luring Martin Skrtel to Ibrox.

Rangers continue to be linked with a move for Fenerbahce defender Martin Skrtel – but his agent has told the Daily Record that no deal will be done.
The Gers brought in four centre backs over the summer as Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Joe Worrall and Gareth McAuley all arrived, bolstering Steven Gerrard’s back line.
Skrtel had been linked with Rangers before those deals having played alongside Gerrard for Liverpool, but no deal went through despite rumours of a move being close at one stage.
Rangers may still be in the market for a defender in 2019, as Worrall will return to Nottingham Forest at the end of the season, and McAuley is out of contract next summer, potentially freeing up room for Skrtel.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season himself, and CNN Turk recently reported that Rangers are likely to be back in the hunt for the Slovakian next year.
Skrtel would certainly add some steel to the Rangers defence, and whilst reuniting with Gerrard may be appealing, it seems that Rangers have no hope of securing his signature in 2019.

Agent Karol Csonto has told the Daily Record that there is ‘no chance’ of Skrtel signing for Rangers as he couldn’t even earn half of his wages at Ibrox, and whilst he does respect Gerrard, a move just isn’t realistic for the centre back.
“Financially there is no chance of Martin going to Rangers,” said Csonto. “He couldn’t get half of his wages in Glasgow. It would be more like a third. Yes, he has great respect for Steven Gerrard but there’s no point in having a discussion because financially it’s just not realistic,” he added.
