Skrtel is reportedly a target for Rangers, which has now been confirmed by his agent.

Martin Skrtel’s agent has told Slovakian TV outlet Markiza, as quoted by the Daily Record, as saying that he has spoken to Rangers’ incoming manager Steven Gerrard over the possibility of a move to Ibrox.
Skrtel, 33, has reportedly been a target for the Gers since the club announced Liverpool legend Gerrard as their new manager, with the former England captain starting work on June 1.
However, it appears that Gerrard has already begun to make inroads into signing new players, giving director of football Mark Allen his blessing to sign Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Jamie Murphy on a permanent basis.

Now, Skrtel’s agent Karol Csontó has confirmed that Skrtel is interested in a move to Ibrox to work under Gerrard, with the latter speaking to Csontó. But the agent also stated that the finances are too far apart, at the moment.
“Rangers are interested in Martin. I personally talked to Steven Gerrard about this possibility,” Csonto said.
“Martin has sincerely said it would be an honour for him to play under Steven’s direction for three years. There are, however, complex financial matters. They are terribly far apart.”

Skrtel is currently turning out for Turkish giants Fenerbahce, where he has impressed this season during his 30 league and cup outings. He has even notched three goals, as Fener finished in second behind Galatasaray.
The former Liverpool rock has one more year remaining on his contract at Fener, which could help the Gers push through a deal. Rangers need a centre-back, with doubts over the future of Bruno Alves and Russell Martin.
