Janssen finally made his return from injury for Spurs’ Under-23 side.

Vincent Janssen finally made his return from injury by turning out for Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-23 side on Monday night against Liverpool’s second string – and Martin Skrtel has teased the striker on Instagram.
The 24-year-old suffered a foot injury while on loan at Skrtel’s Fenerbahce last season, where he managed just five goals and four assists in 18 league and cup appearances. It required surgery this summer.
With the Holland international set to be out of action for a sustained period, Mauricio Pochettino chose not to include him in the 25-man Premier League squad for this season. Now, Janssen is fully fit and has returned from the injury.
Janssen started the match and managed 45 minutes before being replaced by Jamie Reynolds, and the ex-AZ Alkmaar striker posted on Instagram after the match – only to get a reply from Slovenian veteran Skrtel.

Janssen joined Spurs in the summer of 2016, but only managed six goals for the north Londoners in 39 league and cup appearances. Indeed, the powerful striker scored four of those from the penalty spot.
He has a chance of resurrecting his Spurs career this month, with Premier League clubs allowed to change their original registration of players to incorporate new signings.
Janssen will be looking to show Pochettino on the training ground and perhaps in the odd Under-23 outing that he is worthy of a second chance during the rest of the 2018-19 campaign.
