Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill has hailed Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.

Republic of Ireland boss and former Celtic hero Martin O’Neill has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he has enjoyed seeing the ‘urgency and energy’ that Bhoys manager Brendan Rodgers has brought to the club.
The Bhoys were searching for a new manager back in the summer of 2016 having parted ways with Ronny Deila, and whilst a host of names were linked, Celtic arguably landed the best appointment they could have made.
Rodgers was looking to rebuild his reputation having been sacked by Liverpool back in October 2015, and he decided to restart his managerial career with Celtic; the club he grew up supporting.
Rodgers has only furthered Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football, having clinched an unbeaten domestic treble last season, and another treble is on the cards this season.

The 45-year-old has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League in recent weeks given the questions over Arsene Wenger’s future as Arsenal manager, and it promises to be an interesting summer for the Celtic boss.
Now, Rodgers’ compatriot Martin O’Neill – who managed Celtic and is currently in charge of the Republic of Ireland – has offered his praise for the current Bhoys boss.
O’Neill has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he has really enjoyed seeing the urgency and energy to Celtic, suggesting that he has given the entire club a lift since his arrival almost two years ago.
“What I have enjoyed seeing lately is the way that Brendan has brought a real sense of urgency and energy to the club,” said O’Neill. “You can tell the lift the place got just with him coming in and he has done tremendously well,” he added.
