There was double heartbreak for Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka for England’s Euro 2020 final on Sunday night.
Not only did Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate leave him out of the first XI in what was quite a surprise omission, given the 19-year-old’s form in recent games.
But it was the Gunners starlet who missed the decisive penalty during the shootout as Italy reigned supreme at Wembley.
The 19-year-old was spotted in floods of tears at the full-time whistle and a lot of figures within football have rallied around to send messages to the player – and one is former Arsenal teammate Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates Stadium and here’s what the Real Madrid playmaker sent on Instagram.
Volumes

Nothing seems to faze the teenager and no doubt he’ll come back stronger on the back of this disappointment.
