Arsenal appear to have suffered a major blow tonight with Martin Odegaard picking up an injury against Gibraltar.
Odegaard has gone away on international duty, and started for Norway as they made the trip for tonight’s game.
However, the playmaker picked up an ankle injury in the first half, and initially looked to be shaking it off as he carried on playing.
Odegaard notably twisted his right ankle as he controlled a ball, and he really attempted to battle through and see out the game.
However, as half-time approached, Odegaard asked boss Stale Solbakken to take him off, and he was replaced by Jens Petter Hauge at the break.
The good news is that at least Odegaard came off the pitch and didn’t take any unnecessary risk, especially with Norway already 2-0 up against Gibraltar at half time.
Yet Arsenal fans will be fearing that their in-form loanee has now suffered major damage, especially having seen North London rival Harry Kane pick up so many frustrating ankle injuries.
They will hope that Odegaard hasn’t done the same, and now face an anxious wait to find out whether he will be fit to face Liverpool next weekend.
