Mikel Arteta says Arsenal have a player who is very different from others

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the club’s official website that Martin Odegaard is “unique”.

Arteta made the comments about Odegaard after Arsenal completed the signing of the Norway international attacking midfielder from Real Madrid.

The Spaniard is over the moon that Arsenal have been able to secure the services of the 22-year-old.

Arteta told Arsenal’s official website about Odegaard: “Well a lot of things that he brought last season.

“He made us better, we needed more options, alternatives, creativity and players that can be morals for this football club. He is still a really young man but he has huge experience in different clubs already.

“He has a unique talent based on the way we want to play so I’m delighted that the club has made an effort and we have Martin on a permanent deal here.”

Big signing for Arsenal

Odegaard spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal from Madrid.

Arteta saw closely what the Norwegian can do, and clearly he pushed the Gunners to make a permanent deal happen.

Odegaard’s stats were not particularly great.

The youngster scored one goal and provided two assists in nine Premier League starts and scored one goal in five Europa League starts for Arsenal.

But stats do not tell everything.

Arteta worked with Odegaard in training and knows how far he can go.

There is every chance that Odegaard will flourish under Arteta at Arsenal, especially as he now knows about the Premier League and the system that the Spaniard uses.

Moreover, Odegaard is 22, which means that he will improve and develop in the coming years.
