Alan Smith has said on Sky Sports Premier League (6:50pm, October 2, 2021) that Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard struggled against Brighton and Hove Albion tonight.
The former Arsenal striker made the comments about Odegaard when he was coming off in the 63rd minute.
Smith was co-commentary duty for the Premier League match on Sky Sports tonight.
The Englishman said about Odegaard: “It has not been his night. He will have plenty of games in the future where he can dictate the play.”
Disappointing performance
Odegaard has been doing well for Arsenal this season, but against Brighton away from home tonight he did not have the best of games.
The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder failed to create any chance and could not find a way through the Brighton defence.

The Norway international, who can also operate as a winger, did not take any shot, did not play any key pass, had a pass accuracy of 75%, won one header, took 28 touches, made one tackle, and gave one cross.
It was a rather quiet evening for Odegaard, who will hope to fare much better next time he turns out for Arsenal.
In this regard, we must remember that Odegaard is only 22 years of age.
Young players do tend to have bad games.
It was one of those matches for the Norwegian tonight.
