The full-back may get his chance for Arsenal after an injury to Hector Bellerin.
Writing in the Daily Mail, Martin Keown has said that the international break will determine how strong Arsenal’s squad really is.
The Gunners have been stung by the November internationals in recent history as their big name players have picked up injuries away with their nations.
The same thing has happened this time around, with Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin both picking up knocks with Chile and Spain respectively.

As yet the extent of their injuries is unknown, but losing both would be a major blow to Arsenal’s strong start to the campaign.
And Keown says if they are ruled out, then it will provide a stern test of how good Arsene Wenger’s squad is.
“This is the moment when the strength in depth in the squad kicks in,” he told the Daily Mail.
“This is what a manager does, he equips his squad in the knowledge there will be injuries. Every team gets injuries during the season. Over the next few weeks, we will see how well equipped their squad is to cope.”
West Ham United’s Carl Jenkinson
One man who could end up coming in, should Hector Bellerin be ruled out, is full-back, Carl Jenkinson.
Jenkinson has spent the last two years out on loan at West Ham, where he impressed before an injury brought his campaign to an end in February this year.
With Bellerin out this could be the chance for him to stake his claim and Keown has urged him to play with more belief.
“Carl Jenkinson is someone who has come in already and I think he needs to be more confident,” he added.
“He’s been away on loan, he’s maturing and I’d like to see him play with more belief. He’s a tremendous athlete. Hector Bellerin has gone in, embraced it and believes he belongs at that level. Jenkinson needs to find that belief.”
