Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is said to be keen to move to West Ham United.

Martin Keown has suggested to the Daily Mail that Arsenal will allow Jack Wilshere to leave on loan in January, if he pushes for a move.

Wilshere was sent on a temporary spell to Bournemouth last season, and he has failed to break into Arsenal’s team this term.

The midfielder did impress in the Carabao Cup in midweek, as Arsenal knocked out Doncaster Rovers after a 1-0 victory.

It was reported by the Daily Star earlier in the week that Wilshere was looking to impress in cup matches, as he wants to impress West Ham United.

Wilshere is said to have his eyes on a move to London Stadium, as he wants to link up with Slaven Bilic’s side.

And Keown suggests that a transfer will be possible in January, if that is what Wilshere has his heart set on.

“He needs to be available every week. I think it’s good news for Arsene Wenger,” the former Gunners defender said.

“I can’t remember him playing 90 minutes recently. Bournemouth was a good opportunity for Jack. They only played one game a week.

“Wenger might need to pick him for three over a week. Jack needs to be ready for that. Let’s see, but I think Wenger will be happy to have him available and still at the club. It might just be cameo appearances for now.

“Jack himself can assess the situation in January. If he’s not happy, Wenger will let him leave on loan – he’s shown that before.”

West Ham were heavily linked with Wilshere over the summer, but no move materialised, and it is not yet clear whether Bilic has retained an interest in the England international.

Wilshere could feature in Arsenal’s next match, which comes against West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Monday.
