Martin Keown said on BT Sport 1 (12:50pm, February 28, 2021) what he has been told about Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Arsenal legend said that young players at the club look up to the striker, who is great with the youngsters.

Keown made the comments while doing the co-commentary on the Premier League game between Leicester City and Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on Sunday, which the Gunners won.

The Englishman said in first-half injury time on BT Sport 1 (12:50pm, February 28, 2021): “I think Lacazette actually with all these youngsters they really look up to. I am being told that he is great with these players. You need that role model, don’t you, in and around the youngsters?”

Important player for Arsenal

Lacazette has not always played down the middle, largely due to the quality and goalscoring prowess of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, the striker has always been an important source of goals, and that trend has continued this season.

The 29-year-old has scored nine goals and provided two assists in the Premier League and has scored one goal in the Europa League for the Gunners so far this season, according to WhoScored.

The former Lyon star has actually been linked with a move away. Football.London has claimed that Arsenal are likely to be open to selling the striker in the summer of 2021, who is on the radar of AS Monaco, according to The Mirror.

Perhaps given how Lacazette is with the young players at the club, Arsenal should keep him beyond the summer of 2021.
