Martin Keown has given his verdict on the performance of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario against Everton at Goodison Park.
The former Arsenal and Everton star and BBC Sport pundit was not particularly impressed by the display produced by Vicario.
So, what has Martin Keown said about Guglielmo Vicario? Let’s take a look.
Martin Keown criticises Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario vs Everton
Well, Tottenham Hotspur failed to win against Everton on Saturday afternoon. The Premier League match at Goodison Park ended in a 2-2 draw.
Guglielmo Vicario started in goal for Spurs. The 27-year-old goalkeeper did not have a good game.
Perhaps the Italian could point out that Jack Harrison was pushing back into him without trying to get the ball for the first goal Everton scored, he could have certainly done better for the second. The goalkeeper should have been braver for Jarrad Branthwaite’s headed effort.

Martin Keown was following the match for BBC Sport, and the pundit was not impressed.
Keown said about Vicario on Final Score: “I have to say Everton really played well. In the end they managed to get another vital point to take them out of the bottom three and that could prove to be really important.
“For Tottenham, [their goalkeeper] Guglielmo Vicario is costing them goals from set-pieces. He should have done better [for both Everton goals].”
My View: Guglielmo Vicario will get better
In my opinion, Guglielmo Vicario will learn from his experience against Everton and will get better. I expect the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper to bounce back in the next game.
Vicario is a very good goalkeeper. The £17.2 million (Sky Sports) pundit has done well for Tottenham since his move from Empoli in the summer of 2023.
Just because the Italian has had one bad game does not mean that we should all start criticising him.
Mistakes happen. Vicario will learn from the match against Everton, and so will Tottenham.
Perhaps from set pieces from now on, Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou will help Vicario by putting an outfield Tottenham play around him.
