Martin Keown has told Match of the Day, which was broadcast on BBC One on 17th December, that West Ham United boss David Moyes has made Marko Arnautovic unrecognisable from the player he was at the start of the season.

Arnautovic struggled badly in his first few weeks at West Ham, after joining from Stoke City in the summer transfer window.

However, he has been given a more advanced role under Moyes recently, and he has thrived.

The Austrian international scored his first goal for the Hammers in their 1-0 victory over Chelsea, and he backed that performance up with a brilliant showing against Stoke yesterday.

West Ham ran out 3-0 winners at the Bet365 Stadium, with Arnautovic scoring his side’s second of the match.

And Keown thought the wide-man was brilliant: “He is unrecognisable from what we saw at the start of the season. He is hungry and powerful. He was Mark Hughes’ worst nightmare.

“His pace impressed me. He is playing with intelligence now. He was the guy who came to town to ruin the party. I thought he was outstanding.”

West Ham have now taken seven points out of their last nine, with Moyes’ side looking much improved.

The Hammers are now out of the relegation zone, with momentum behind them for the first time this season.
