Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield on Monday evening.

Martin Keown has told the Daily Mail that Liverpool are favourites for the clash with Manchester United on Monday evening.
The Reds host their fierce rivals at Anfield on Monday in arguably the most eagerly-anticipated game between the two in a number of years.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have started the season in fine form and currently sit fourth in the Premier League. In contrast, Jose Mourinho’s team find themselves down in seventh having enjoyed a shakier start than their rivals.

The game will be a huge indication of not only both sides’ top-four credentials but also their title aspirations this year.
For Keown, there is only team who are the favourites and that is the home side. He told the Daily Mail:
“The managers make this such a mouth-watering fixture, but I have to say Liverpool are the favourites. Their tails are up and there is a real energy to them.
“After the international break, the Anfield faithful will be cranking up the volume and it will feel like the first game of the season.
“It feels like United are at a crossroads for their season. Lose to Liverpool, and it looks like they won’t be champions this year but victory would lift the team and help them move forward in their new regime.”

The game will certainly make for fascinating viewing, with neither side daring to lose it.
A win for Liverpool will take them onto 19 points from their first eight games and level with Manchester City at the top of the table.
United, meanwhile, simply need to win just to keep up with their rivals as a win would take them to 16 points and keep them within touching distance even at this early stage.
