Tottenham Hotspur are Chelsea’s only realistic challengers for the Premier League title.

BBC pundit Martin Keown delivered his verdict on Spurs’ Premier League title hopes, when speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day programme on Saturday April 1st.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men closed the gap on league leaders Chelsea to just seven points with their 2-0 win at Burnley yesterday, as Antonio Conte’s side slipped up at home to Crystal Palace.
And with some tricky games on the horizon for the Blues, Tottenham seem primed to gain even more ground on the West Londoners.
Keown though, who spent 13 years with Spurs’ fierce rivals Arsenal over the course of two separate spells, believes it is still a tall order for the north London outfit to catch Chelsea, explaining how the FA Cup semi final clash between the two sides could prove to be hugely significant, when speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day programme:
“This Tottenham team have been brilliant since the turn of the year. But they have a hugely tough run-in. Lets see what they can do, it’s difficult to call but it is a tall order. They still have to play against Chelsea in the semi-final of the FA Cup and that could have an effect on the players’ mindset, but after Crystal Palace beat Chelsea, who knows?”
Both clubs still have nine league games remaining, and whilst Tottenham have already played every team currently inside the top half of the table away from home, Chelsea still have to travel to Old Trafford, Goodison Park and the Hawthorns.
And there is definitely still life in the title race, despite Keown’s suggestion that it will still be a tall order for Pochettino’s side to make up ground on the Blues.
