The Tottenham Hotspur star hasn’t quite been himself in recent weeks.

Martin Keown shared his concerns regarding Tottenham star Harry Kane’s form heading into the World Cup in Russia with England this summer, when writing his regular Tackle Keown column for the Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old has been prolific once again this season for Spurs, scoring 38 goals in 45 games in all competitions, but he hasn’t been immune from criticism, especially in recent weeks.

Kane created somewhat of a furore when he claimed a goal against Stoke City three weeks ago, and he has become the target of ridicule from fans and his fellow pros ever since.
His form certainly dipped in wake of the goal appeal incident, but Keown explained why fatigue could also be behind the Tottenham man’s recent slump, when writing his Tackle Keown column for the Daily Mail:

“Harry Kane’s next goal in his career is to prove to the world his undoubted quality with England in Russia after four years of dazzling in the Premier League. Since returning from injury he has not looked as sharp. He is having to work much harder for his goals. At one stage this season, he was getting tap-ins from corners. Now, defenders are getting wise to his movement and shutting the door on him. For Kane to thrive at the World Cup, he must be given the necessary rest. I hope he is not heading to Russia fatigued.”
Kane is expected to lead the line for the Three Lions at the World Cup this summer, and if he is to carry his country deep into the latter stages of the competition, he will have to arrive in Russia in fine fettle, both physically and mentally.
England have a history of relying too much on one player in major competitions, and if the Spurs ace is to truly flourish at this summer’s tournament, he will need his teammates to rise to the occasion as well.
