All the talk at Tottenham Hotspur at the moment is about Gareth Bale’s improvement.
And understandably because the Welshman has clearly turned a corner to become one of Jose Mourinho’s most important players at the moment.
But let’s not forget about Tanguy Ndombele.
Bale has been brilliant for a few weeks, but the France international has been doing the business for Spurs virtually all season.
Ndombele looked set to leave North London after a difficult first season at the club following a club-record £63 million deal under Mauricio Pochettino.
He seemed to have fallen out with Jose Mourinho toward the end of the 2019-20 campaign, culminating in a failure to even make the squad some weeks.
But he looks a different animal in every possible way for the Lilywhites this time around and speaking to BT Sport last night after their Europa League win over Zagreb, Martin Keown sang his praises.
He said: “Ndombele is actually a much improved player in this new-look Spurs team. Really interesting to see that player playing off the front.”
