Martin Keown praised Steven Gerrard’s Rangers on BT Sport 2 (11:05pm, December 10, 2020).
The former Arsenal and England international defender was impressed by Rangers in their 2-0 win against Lech Poznan on Thursday evening.
The result saw Rangers win Europa League Group D and finish two points ahead of Portuguese giants Benfica.
Keown believes that it is a great achievement of the Gers to finish ahead of Benfica, and has pointed out that the Ibrox club are far ahead of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment.
Rangers are 13 points clear of Old Firm rivals Celtic at the top of the league table, although Neil Lennon’s side have two games in hand.
Meanwhile, Dundee midfielder and ex-Rangers star Charlie Adam was pleased to see the Gers win on Thursday evening.
Keown said about Rangers on BT Sport 2 (11:05pm, December 10, 2020): “Absolutely outstanding to win their group in this manner, with Benfica in that group as well. They really are making huge progress, running away and they really are running away (in the league).”
Exciting times for Rangers
Rangers are having a wonderful season, and it must be a great time to be a Gers fan.
Gerrard’s team are playing good football, and they are consistently winning matches.
It is still quite early in the season, but the signs are looking very promising indeed.
