Keown played for Leicester City as well as Tottenham Hotspur’s local rivals, Arsenal.

Martin Keown expects Brendan Rodgers to be taken far more seriously the next time a big club job – potentially those of Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur – comes up.
Rodgers had led Leicester City into Champions League contention since his February arrival at the King Power Stadium – leaving more traditional challengers like Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United in his wake.
There is already talk of all three clubs’ managers – excluding Leicester’s – leaving their posts.
And Rodgers – who came close to delivering a long-awaited league title to Liverpool before he won a clean sweep of trophies as Celtic boss – will be in contention to replace at least two of those, according to Keown.
“If he continues to be successful at Leicester, next time when the big jobs come up he’ll be taken far more seriously,” the former Arsenal and Leicester defender told Talksport on Friday. “He’s only enhancing his reputation.

“You don’t want to see managers out of a job but if suddenly (Mauricio) Pochettino is not the Tottenham manager I’m sure Brendan Rodgers’ name is going to be mentioned, as it would be with Arsenal.”
Rodgers’ Leicester have already beaten Tottenham at the King Power Stadium this season and will be looking for a repeat result when Arsenal travel up the M1 a week tomorrow (Saturday).
