Everton were beaten 3-0 by Lyon in Europa League action last night.

Sigurdsson was made Everton’s record signing during the summer transfer window, with Ronald Koeman pushing hard to sign the attacking midfielder.
However, since Unsworth has come in, Sigurdsson has largely been overlooked.

The former Swansea City man was left on the substitutes’ bench for the Toffees’ first two fixtures, and then he was given a role out of position against Lyon last night.
And Keown said: “The one player we haven’t seen is Sigurdsson. Unsworth has said [by not picking him] that he doesn’t really rate him.”
Sigurdsson failed to do much to impress for Everton against Lyon, as his struggles continued.

The Icelandic international was very isolated up-front, but he failed to get involved in the match and trouble the French side’s defence.
Everton ended up losing the match against their Ligue 1 opponents 3-0, as they slipped to yet another defeat.
The Toffees are now out of Europe, and will be free to concentrate on turning around their fortunes in the Premier League.
