Would Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney be a good signing for Everton in the summer transfer window?

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has suggested in The Daily Mail that Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney will be a good signing for Everton in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, Everton are interested in signing Rooney from Premier League rivals United in the summer.
It has been reported that the Toffees will offer the England international, who has also operated as a midfielder, a weekly salary of £150.000.
According to The Sun, the 31-year-old, who started his professional club career at Everton, earns £250,000 per week at United at the moment.

Former Arsenal star Keown, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has explained why Rooney would be a good signing for Everton.
“There would be tremendous interest if Rooney were to re-sign with his boyhood club,” Keown wrote in The Daily Mail. “Let’s not forget his remarkable record — he the all-time record goalscorer for England and Manchester United, has won everything in club football and last night played in his fourth European final.
“If he returned, everyone would be wearing Rooney shirts overnight! Rooney has picked up a couple of injuries this season but those have occurred in training, not on the pitch.
“You see that when a player is trying too hard in training to get back into the team. Koeman can tailor Rooney’s training to get him back on the pitch and once he is playing, he could prove a good acquisition for someone of his age.”

Rooney is past his prime, but the England international is still a very good player and he would do a great job for Everton.
The Merseyside outfit will be aiming to break into the Champions League places next season, and Rooney would be an important player in that quest.
