Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor played well for Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox on Thursday.
Allan McGregor of Rangers
The Arsenal legend made the observation about McGregor following Rangers’ 1-0 win against Feyenoord at Ibrox in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The 37-year-old Scottish goalkeeper, who returned to the Gers in the summer of 2018 for his second spell at the Scottish giants, made a couple of very good saves against Feyenoord.
McGregor has established himself as the undisputed first-choice between the posts for Rangers, and Keown believes that the Gers do tend to rely on him in every single game.
Keown said on BT Sport 2 (11:19pm, September 19, 2019: “McGregor as well. He always seems to rely on him. He always has to pull off a great save or two.”
Worry for Rangers?
Rangers do have a good defence, but, like all teams, they do allow the opposition to create chances.
McGregor making saves in games is part of his job, and as long as he is not the best player for Rangers in each and every match he plays, the Ibrox faithful have nothing to worry about.
