Arsenal play host to Tottenham Hotspur today in the highly anticipated north London derby.
Arsenal legend Martin Keown explained how he feels Spurs are 10 years behind his former club in terms of development, when writing his column for the Daily Mail.
The Gunners head into tomorrow’s vital clash against their bitter rivals as favourites, after going on a 15 game unbeaten run in all competitions, whilst Tottenham are in the midst of a poor run of form that has seen them go six games without a win.
As has so often been the case, however, form counts for little on derby day, and the outcome will be heavily dependant on which side performs better on the day.

Keown, who played 334 league games for Arsenal, offered his thoughts on how Tottenham are progressing as a club, and how they compare to Arsene Wenger’s men in terms of stature, when writing his column for the Daily Mail:
“Arsenal remain the bigger club globally and although Tottenham have some way to go, they are catching up. You could say they are 10 years behind in terms of the development of their stadium but on the pitch there has been a meteoric rise under Pochettino.”

A win for the Gunners tomorrow would see them move six points clear of their rivals, while Spurs can draw level on points with Arsenal should they leave the Emirates with all three points.
Whilst it is hard to argue with Keown’s point from a perspective of the two club’s consistency over the last 20 years, it is undeniable that the white side of north London are in the best position they have been for years to challenge Wenger’s men.
