Could Liverpool do the unthinkable and match Arsenal’s ‘invincibles’ by going unbeaten this season? Well, a certain Gunners favourite thinks they can.

Martin Keown has claimed that Liverpool can match Arsenal’s Invincibles and go unbeaten in the Premier League this season.
Only Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal from the 2003/04 season hold that tag from the Premier League era, but in recent seasons, both Liverpool and Manchester City have come pretty close to that title.
Liverpool beat Sheffield United 1-0 on Saturday afternoon to make it seven wins from their opening seven games – they hold a five-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side.
Speaking to Final Score on BBC One (28/09/2019 17:25 pm), Keown, who was part of that famous Arsenal group many years ago, has backed Liverpool to do the unthinkable once again.
On whether they can go unbeaten: “I’m concerned,” Keown told Final Score. “As a member of that illustrious group. The Invincibles. I think they can do it. That X-Factor is there. They are just living, breathing, winning football, at the moment.
“You can see it. Wijnaldum plays with an anger, doesn’t he?! There’s a moment when a player has to step up, it seems to be him. From all quarters, they are scoring goals.
“They were lucky [against Sheffield United], but often, it’s those sorts of games you look back on when you are champions – it seems as though Liverpool are in control of this – the remit has been win every game because they think City will do too.”

Whilst Arsenal’s Premier League title drought continues, one thing that will always remain in their supporters’ minds is that unbeaten season – it ended up going to 49 unbeaten in the end.
But there’s no doubt that they wouldn’t want a Liverpool this season, or a Man City in another season to claim their own unbeaten tag.
Whilst Sir Alex Ferguson had a number of great Manchester United team’s, Chelsea proved their worth under Jose Mourinho and now City are ruling England’s top-flight – no-one has been able to match Wenger’s team during the Premier League era, as of yet
