Martin Keown admits he might have been wrong about Sheffield United

Pundit and former Premier League winner Martin Keown has told The Mail he already fears his prediction about Sheffield United may be wrong.

Keown tipped the Blades for relegation back to the Championship, but has been impressed by their start to the season.

Sheffield United have lost only once in four games, winning one and drawing two.

Most recently was a hard fought 2-2 draw away at Chelsea.

When asked to update his expected relegation trio, Keown began to backtrack.

He said: “I predicted Newcastle, Norwich and Sheffield United in pre- season but Chris Wilder’s side have the same number of points as Tottenham!

“Watford, tipped to push for Europe in pre-season, are bottom. Maybe Bournemouth and Southampton will start to feel the pressure.”

Pundit Chris Sutton told The Mail he was standing by his prediction that Sheffield United will be relegated.

Chris Wilder’s side have won promotion twice in the last three years and this has given them a lot of belief in their own ability.

Their draw at Stamford Bridge shows they hold no fear.

After the international break Sheffield United have a home game against Southampton, before a trip to Everton.
