Tottenham Hotspur have signed Davinson Sanchez from Ajax in the summer transfer window.
Premier League club Tottenham have signed Sanchez from Dutch giants Ajax in the summer transfer window.
According to statement on the Eredivisie outfit’s official website, the transfer fee is €40 million (£36.6m) and could rise to €42m (£38.4m) with add-ons.
Former Tottenham and Ajax manager Jol has given his opinion on Sanchez, stating that for him to play regularly for Spurs, manager Mauricio Pochettino will have to deploy three at the back.
Jol has also outlined the qualities of the 21-year-old Colombia international central defender.

“If you play for Ajax, you can play for any club in the world — that is the reality,” Jol told The London Evening Standard about Sanchez. “He was arguably their best player. He is cynical, he is unbelievably quick.
“He settled quickly as a young lad who came into the country [from Colombian club Atletico Nacional]. He was there one year and he was a personality.
“For a young player, he was mentally strong. That’s not a normal thing because he was very young. But to be mentally good for the Premier League, you have to learn your trade.”
Jol added: “Can Sanchez play for Spurs? Only if Spurs play three at the back, because Pochettino has Jan and Toby. Sanchez is the other one.”

Sanchez is a very alented player with a lot of potential, and the Colombian could be a massive success at Spurs in the long run.
What is important at the moment is that the 21-year-old gets enough playing time for him to improve his game and develop himself.
