The Slovakia international was one of the best players for the Magpies in the second half of the season, as Rafael Benitez’s side avoided relegation from the Premier League.
According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle will have to pay Sparta an additional transfer fee of £4 million in order to make Dubravka’s loan deal permanent in the summer transfer window.
“I would like to (sign permanently), of course,” Dubravka told The Northern Echo. “It’s a huge club with a great history, amazing fans and quality players. Standing with the best players in the world, I’m so proud of it.”
Deal no-brainer
Dubravka has proved himself in the Premier League, and if £4m is all it takes for Newcastle to secure the services of the 29-year-old on a permanent contract, then club owner Mike Ashley should give Benitez the funds and make the deal happen.
The Slovakia international goalkeeper made some important saves in the 1080 minutes of Premier League football he played for the Magpies this season.
