Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United side have made Martin Dubravka their only permanent addition of the summer so far.

Dubravka joined Newcastle on loan in January, and his performances helped the Magpies avoid the drop last term.
There was a real sense of optimism around Newcastle when last campaign ended, with most supporters expecting Benitez to be backed with funds.
However, Dubravka is the only permanent addition that Newcastle have made this summer.
And even the goalkeeper doesn’t seem entirely convinced that the Magpies will progress over the upcoming campaign.
“Where can we finish? It’s hard to say because everybody has ambition,” Dubravka admitted.
“It’s hard to say which direction we will go in next season but we need train hard.

“We want to start well because this first game is coming really soon.
“It’ll be important to start well.”
Dubravka is almost certain to start next season as Newcastle’s number one, even though he has four other senior goalkeepers currently challenging for his place.
Newcastle still have time to make additions, but Benitez has admitted that he must sell before he can buy.
