Martin Allen has claimed that Jack Grealish will look to leave Aston Villa if they earn promotion to the Premier League and then survive.

The TalkSport pundit lauded the qualities of Grealish, but he stated that he’ll stay at the club if they earn promotion, but then he’ll look to potentially sign for one of the ‘big boys’ in the division.

Dean Smith’s side host Frank Lampard’s Derby County in the play-off final on May 27th at Wembley, the winner will join Championship champions Norwich City and Sheffield United in the Premier League.

Speaking to The Final Word on TalkSport (19/05/2019 at 8:20 pm), former West Ham midfielder and ex-Barnet manager Allen shared his thoughts on Grealish.

“They have got Grealish, he is a good player,” Allen told TalkSport. “He is a quality player – He’ll be going to the Premier League [if they don’t go up].

“I think if they do go up, I don’t think he’ll be looking to make a move to one of the big Premier League clubs. I think he’ll look to stay at Villa and do all he can to keep Villa in the Premier League.

“Then perhaps at the end of next season, he may be looking ‘right, I need to move to one of the big boys now and start to challenge’. He’s got so much ability. He’s a better player than what I thought he was.”

There is no doubt that Grealish is one of the most talented players outside of England’s top-flight and given his qualities Villa will do very well to keep hold of him in the summer if they lose at Wembley.

As a result, there are big pressures on the shoulders of those at Villa Park as the club aim to end their three-year absence from the promised land.

If they are to beat Derby later on this month then Grealish will have to play a big part in getting them over the line given the qualities he possesses.
