Marseille can unleash four ex-Arsenal players on Tottenham Hotspur when the two teams meet on Wednesday night.

Tottenham beat Fulham 2-1 on Saturday afternoon and must now turn their attention to the Champions League.

Marseille are first up for Tottenham, with the Ligue 1 side heading to North London tomorrow night.

Spurs will certainly be looking for a win, but Marseille come with five wins from six Ligue 1 games – as well as having four ex-Arsenal player.

Even after you leave Arsenal or Tottenham, that allegiance sticks with you for years to come.

Marseille’s former Arsenal contingent may still bleed red and white, and that could be a concern for Tottenham.

We’ll start at the back, where Marseille have Sead Kolasinac.

Kolasinac joined Arsenal from Schalke back in 2017 and big things were expected of him as an attacking left back.

Whilst signed on a free transfer, Kolasinac still didn’t really live up to his billing and was let go by Arsenal in January of this year.

Marseille were happy to swoop in, handing the Bosnian an 18-month deal and he is currently starting as a left-sided centre back under Igor Tudor.

Kolasinac may play there again on Tuesday night, allowing Nuno Tavares to play as a left wing back.

Tavares is the only one of Marseille’s crop with Arsenal ties who is still on the books at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal appeared to have struck a bargain with Benfica when they signed Tavares last summer, especially after he showed immediate promise in the Premier League.

2022 was tough for Tavares though and after some shaky displays, he was sent on loan to Marseille.

The move is working perfectly for Tavares, who has hit three goals in just six Marseille games and could be a threat to Tottenham.

In midfield, Marseille can also utilise Matteo Guendouzi, who turned out more than 80 times for Arsenal in all competitions.

Guendouzi, 23, was tipped to be a huge talent at Arsenal but fell by the wayside.

Now getting his career back on track with Marseille, Guendouzi is not only a danger to Tottenham in terms of being a quality midfielder, but also because he loves to wind players up.

The final name of this crop is Alexis Sanchez, who certainly had the most success at Arsenal of the lot.

Sanchez joined from Barcelona in 2014 and became a hero for Arsenal fans, bagging 80 goals in 166 games for the Gunners.

The Chilean’s record against Tottenham isn’t all that impressive though; four wins, four draws and three defeats in 11 games against Spurs whilst notching just three goals and no assists.

Sanchez has though made a great start to life with Marseille having scored three times in five games.

All four players would no doubt love to get one over on Arsenal’s bitter rivals, and they will be seeking to embarrass Tottenham in their own back yard on Wednesday night.
